SOCOTEC UK (‘we’ or ‘us’) are a ‘data controller’ for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, (i.e. we are responsible for, and control the processing of, your personal information). This website is a standalone service provided by the Foundations department of SOCOTEC UK.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When a user profile is provided we collect the following personal information:

When submitting details of a test, we collect information regarding your client, the location of the works and the testing requirements. If you give us information about another person, you confirm that the other person has appointed you to act on their behalf and agreed that you shall consent on their behalf to the processing of their personal data; shall receive any data protection notices on their behalf; and shall consent on their behalf to the transfer of their personal data abroad.
How we use the information we collect
The information we collect about our users is used for identification purposes and site customisation only. The information provided in the booking form is used for logisitcal operations and fulfilling your testing requirements.
How long we retain your data
The profile details, information you provide on a booking form and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can provide historical data to you through the File Room and recognise and approve profile access.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We may share your information with law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to help prevent unlawful activity
